課程概述 |
本課程探討中高緯度平流層及對流層間的動力交互過程。我們會先回顧中緯度基本的動力方程式與分析診斷方法,以及如何將他們應用到平流層動力系統中。接下來課程主軸會放在對流層的長波擾動如何影響平流層環流(例如平流層極地渦旋),並探討這樣的動力過程如何導致平流層爆發性暖化事件(stratospheric sudden warming, SSW)。最後我們會討論SSW發生後,接下來幾個星期SSW對對流層大氣造成什麼樣的影響,並探討可能的動力機制。 |
課程目標 |
This course aims to 1) extend our dynamical knowledge toward the stratosphere, 2) understand the dynamical two-way interactions between stratosphere and troposphere, and 3) understand the nature of stratospheric sudden warming events. |
課程要求 |
Students, who have taken Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, are preferred taking this course. Some basic math and programming skills are needed. |
